This is our popular and successful Search Management course which we have developed since first identifying the importance of the Initial Response phase of an incident in 2000 and is a recognised course by MREW.
It is based on principles which are easy to understand, straightforward to apply in practice and equip the search manager with the skills to organise and manage an efficient and effective missing person search.
It deals with the following topics:
- The importance of the Initial Response phase of a missing person incident
- The concept of Search is an Emergency
- The fundamentals of search - PoS=PoAxPoD and what it means in practice
- Missing Person Behaviour Statistics suitable for use in the UK and how they can be used
- The Six Step Process; a problem-solving process that lends itself to the management of missing person incidents
- Scenario based search planning
- Practical ‘table top’ exercises based on past incidents
The course lasts one day and will be based at The Holiday Inn, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE13 6BP on Saturday November 9th. Start at 0930 hrs. finish at 1700 hrs.
A training manual will be provided plus hospitality at The Holiday Inn - teas and coffee plus lunch.
The cost will be £80.00 for volunteers and £100 for statutory organisations - this includes a subsidy from TCSR which is a registered charity.

The Holiday Inn have reserved 15 rooms for anyone wishing to travel on the Friday. Individuals will have to make their own arrangements for this.
