Search Skills Training

After a very quiet year due to the current situation with the global pandemic it was good to get out once again to deliver some training, appropriately socially distanced of course.

We delivered practical search skills training to members of our own team, Northumberland National Park Search and Rescue Team, who are just now able to return to limited practical training.  We conducted the training in a private woodland, so we were distanced from the public at large.  We also separated the team into two smaller groups and ran two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

A good day with lots of learning for participants despite the torrential rain for most of the day.

Particular thanks to Russell, who had the foresight to put up the team’s event shelter in advance so we had a bolt hole from the weather for the briefing and debriefing of team members.
